My mom is a private security guard

The other night I had a terrifying experience. At around 1:00 am, I woke up to the sound of the dogs barking. I live in a lovely neighborhood on a street lined with nice houses and tidy lawns. Usually, we don't have any issues, but sometimes if people are out walking their dogs at night, the dogs will start barking. I got out of bed and was about to check on the commotion when the motion light outside our bedroom flickered on.<br><br>When I looked towards the window, I saw two shadowy figures standing just beyond the reach of the porch light's glow. After a few moments, I reached for the phone to call the cops, but they took off without any prompting. My mom, who is a private security guard, immediately took matters into her own hands.
