Would you be willing to take a paycut if it meant you could get a career of your life and be fulfilled?

I'm a software engineer for a financial services company. I work long hours, but make good money, with lots of overtime for big projects. The work isn't exciting, but the pay is very good. It came at a huge cost, as I've spent most of my 20s working 50-70 hour weeks, missing out on so many life events. I'm not excited about what I do at all which is what really burns me out. I'm about to be out of my 20s now (I'm turning 30 in a few days lol).

I've been thinking about leaving my company to pursue other careers I would be more passionate about. I'd be taking a massive paycut to do so (it might be 50% less or more). This would basically mean I would have to move out of the big city I'm living in and into a smaller city or town that's a lot more affordable. It would be a major change for me, but I'm thinking that it's worth it if it means I can pursue something I'm really passionate about. I'm not sure what else to do though - I feel like I'm stuck at a crossroads in my career and need to make a decision about it.

It feels like the consensus in tech is that if you're passionate about something, then you'll do well and be fulfilled in your career. I've been in tech for 6 years, and while I do well in terms of promotions and pay, I hate my job. I don't really know where to go from here so any advice would be appreciated.

TLDR: I'm feeling burnt out from working in tech. I'm considering a paycut to pursue another career I'd be more passionate about, but I'm not sure if it will pay off or if I'll regret it.
