I can’t afford to pay for gourmet meal prep that’s way overpriced and I feel like some people want to get started but don’t know where to get started. I will start with what I just made.

I live in Philadelphia so most of the food I get is from Walmart because they are the cheapest option unfortunately.
Let’s start with ground turkey. I pay $5 for 5 pounds and freeze it. Next I buy 5 lbs of basmati rice which is $4.50.

Alright now for the cooking process. I put three tablespoons of olive oil in a pan which I use to cook with and put a whole onion in the pan to sauté. Once the onions are done I just add the ground turkey to the pan and brown it. Don’t worry about the full pound it’s fine.

Now you add the rice. You should probably use about half the bag or 2.5 lbs. If you have a really big pan you should use it. Add water to the pan until it’s level with the rice. It will take a little bit for it to get done so be patient.

Alright you just made rice and ground turkey. Now add salt and pepper to taste and you’re good to go. I typically cook and then put it into glass containers and just freeze it and reheat it the next day and it tastes like it’s freshly made.

I prep all of my food and this container only cost $1.45 so I just made 5 lbs of rice for 11.25 which is 2.25 lbs of rice for 2.25.

Even if you have to pay $3 for the rice it’s still a win win situation.
