Consider this the opposite of The Grinch. The inside of the chimney is a perfect fit for Kris Kringle, and when he tries to pull himself out, he realizes he cannot do so. Since the major plot point of this story is the main character being worried about ruining Christmas by being unable to bring gifts to the kids, it would be best to have his viewpoint. Maybe he has been going around to houses in the middle of winter, and he realizes what's happening when he falls onto a fireplace and gets stuck once he cannot pull himself out. Then, he tries to yell for help, but the people in the house cannot hear him, and he is simply making noise for his reindeer while listening to them get upset over his disappearance. With this, he is under a lot of stress, getting angrier as the hours drag on, and he realizes he is going to have to spend the night in this situation, while still stuck. Then, he hears a faint voice, which he realizes is coming from outside.

The voice is the voice of Mrs. Claus, who is trying to reassure Santa that he will be all right, and she and the elves are on their way. Then, she gets a reply from inside the chimney, which she apparently didn't expect.

"Well, this is embarrassing." said the voice. "I have been stuck here for about two hours now."

"Two hours? How long have you known we were on our way?" asked Mrs. Claus.

"I wasn't sure until recently, but I do know the reindeer have been acting strange."

"We won't make it until tomorrow morning at the earliest. You are going to have to stay here overnight. I have called the children, and we will divide the presents between the reindeer and sleighs. We will make sure every child gets two gifts each, and we will make sure to tell them that you are doing well. We will not be telling them how you are doing well, as they are too young to understand the situation you are in, but I am sure you will explain to them what happened once this is all over."

"I will, and I will also explain it to them. We will have to get an earlier start next year, but Christmas isn't ruined yet."

"I'm glad we could reassure you, and I am relieved that the children will have something to look forward to."

"You and the elves have done a great job this year, and I hope the children will appreciate the effort went into making this Christmas happen, even though it isn't the Christmas they were expecting."

"We will make sure they know, and we will also make sure to tell them that we were able to save Christmas this year only because the big man was brave. We will not be telling them about the chimney, but I'm sure it will get out eventually, especially once word gets out that we are getting an earlier start next year."

"I'm glad we can keep them from worrying, and I was able to give them a Christmas this year. Tell the reindeer and elves to stay safe, especially since it is nighttime."

"We will, and we will also make sure to let the children know that their gifts are coming at a slightly different time and will not be as many. Of course, we will not tell them why, but once they see the amount of gifts their friends got compared to them, they will ask questions."

"We will answer their questions when they are old enough, and I think they will be happy we were able to save Christmas for them."

"I'm glad it's not completely ruined, and we were able to put an emergency plan together. I think it will be a while before I am able to get free, especially since I'm not sure how we can get me out. I don't want to be stuck here for days, and we can't just leave me here."

"We are working on that, and we will let you know once we have a solution."

"Thank you, and I appreciate you letting me know what is going on out there. Please give my best to the reindeer and make sure they are being taken care of."

"We will, and we will also make sure to let them know you are doing well. I will talk to you again in the morning."

"Sounds good. Thank you for telling me what is going on. I feel much better knowing the children will still have a Christmas this year."

"We will talk to you again in the morning, and I hope we have a plan to get you out by then."

"Thank you. I feel better now that I know what is going on."

"We will talk to you again in the morning. Hopefully we will have a plan to get you out of there by then."

"Thank you again, and make sure to let the reindeer and elves know I appreciate their hard work."

"We will, and we will also let the children know how much work went into bringing them a Christmas this year. We will not tell them you are stuck, but we will tell them how much effort went into making sure they got something, even if there had to be some major adjustments. We will also make sure to tell them how much you want them to have a good Christmas, and we are doing everything we can to make sure that happens."

"I am glad we were able to save Christmas this year, even if we had to divide the presents and couldn't give them as many."

"We were able to save Christmas, but we are not out of the woods yet. That is why we are still working on a plan to get you out of there, and I hope we have one by the time we talk again in the morning."

"I look forward to hearing about it. Make sure to tell the reindeer and elves I said thank you for all their hard work."

"We will, and once again, I am glad we were able to save Christmas for the children this year." Mrs. Claus said before hanging up.
