Trump ISN'T LIKELY TO DEPORT ANYBODY. Why?

Trump ran for office in 2016 on a hardline immigration platform, promising to severely limit immigration to the United States. This included a complete travel ban on immigrants from certain countries, and strict vetting (extreme vetting) of visa applicants from countries that he deemed dangerous.

While he has actually implemented these policies and more, the US has NOT deported hundreds of thousands of people, particularly illegal immigrants, as promised. The White House will do anything to spin this narrative in order to save face. The reality is that Trump has deported LESS people than Obama, and a lot LESS than Biden.

Why? It's *SUPER* simple. Trump is a businessman. He does not care about immigration reform, he only cares about what will *line his pockets and increase his power*. The fact of the matter is that we have millions of undocumented immigrants in this country. Many of them have been here for years. Only a small number of them have actually been deported by ICE. Furthermore, we have people from ALL OVER THE WORLD coming to the US seeking asylum. Many of these people are incentivized to get here, because *Illegal immigrants get taxpayer funded benefits like health care at a certain stage*. This is why I think Trump has largely left illegal immigrants alone, particularly compared to his campaign promises.

Money. Trump has done nothing in office to improve the economy for anyone except his big donors. Deporting millions of people would actually HURT the economy, not help it. Illegal immigrants work cheap jobs that most Americans don't apply for, and that big business uses to exploit them. Many of them do not even file taxes on the money they earn, or purchase anything from big business. They usually live in poverty and are exploited by their employers.

Furthermore, more than half of illegal immigrants pay taxes, even though they don't get any benefits from the government. We have millions of them paying taxes and working jobs that big business need to make a profit. If they were suddenly deported, there would not be enough workers to fill those positions, which would severely hurt the economy. Furthermore, employers would be forced to pay higher wages to get people to take those jobs, which would be bad for business. This is why I think Trump is not interested in deporting them. Deportation would actually hurt his big donors, and the economy as a whole. We cannot deport millions of people and then replace them with Americans. Somehow, we have to make it work, and that's why Trump has almost always targeted employers in his immigration crackdowns, not immigrants.

Actually deporting people would only hurt the economy and his donors. Fundamentally, Trump and the GOP are about helping the economy by giving more power and money to those who already have it. This also includes the Duverger's Law. By pitting Democrats and Republicans against each other, the donors get more power and wealth, while the public is forced to fight over the little scraps left over from their mess.
