25th November 2023 marks the 105th anniversary of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The incident which is cited in every secondary school history textbook globally is often cited to be British brutality and their mindless killing of Indians.

Here is the thing; the incident started when Brigadier E. D. Thomson was stabbed repeatedly by some madlas.

The whole incident could have been stopped if the Amritsar police had arrested the culprits, but instead they let them flee and the British forces decided to teach a lesson to the ones responsible and opened fire.

But what is often left is the fact that the firing was stopped after 10 minutes.

General Dyer put out leaflets saying that a rebellion was brewing and that the people should stay indoors. Yet a madla named Madan Lal Dhingra, who was a close friend of Bhagat Singh, somehow felt insecure and along with thousands of people decided to breach a 10-minute long open fire.

Let's see how the Indian media spins it in their favour.
