Can we talk about the "humans bad" mentality?

I used to subscribe to this mentality when I was very young, and my first thoughts when seeing someone hurt an animal would be "fuck humans". I can't remember if I stopped thinking that way because of some experience, or because I grew out of it.

I've seen it a lot more often on Chambers and other social media platforms, and it seems to be getting worse. The biggest reasons for this mentality are: people insisting on trying to eat animals that are not supposed to be eaten; the constant arsons/forest fires; climate change; people leaving trash everywhere; people having babies to torture animals; and more.

I'm not denying that humans are not terrible for the planet. However, I do think that we shouldn't all be painted with the same brush. I'm not excusing the people that commit these crimes, but we can't judge all people as one.

I do think that there is a lot of stigma and prejudice to people who are considered "conservative" or "religious", when in fact many religious people and conservatives are against these crimes. Hell, different religious leaders have been speaking out against these specific issues: the Pope, the Dalai Lama, and the former Archbishop of Canterbury have all warned about climate change.

It's not fair to paint all of humanity with the same brush, just because a select handful of individuals are doing terrible things. There are many people who are actively dedicating their lives to stopping these crimes; people who dedicate their lives to protecting the environment, who dedicate their lives to protecting animals, who are actively working to make animals' lives better.

I'm not saying that humans are good either. While I believe that humans can be good, I do think that humans can be terrible towards animals, and I am insisting that we are both good and bad, depending on the circumstance. But, it's very easy to judge humanity as a whole as terrible when we hear about these crimes constantly. But, there are people out there who are doing great things.

EDIT: Typos
