The people who work at grocery stores that are paid a decent hourly wage should take a strong stance against shoplifting and theft.

When you work at a grocery store you make more money working there compared to a lot of other entry level jobs. And your work is way less physically demanding. But there are a lot of people who feel like its the grocery stores fault that you dont make enough to pay rent. So you just steal from the store that pays you. I realize this is mostly younger people who dont know how the world works or have a sense of entitlement. But if I am working at Safeway and I see someone just walking out with a cart the employee should step aside and let the security guard do his job. I would never be ok with them stealing. If they get caught I am not going to lie for them and say they were stockpiling items. I realize they are your coworkers but they just stole from the company you work at. I also realize that its not the employees fault that they dont make enough to pay rent. But they arent forced to work at the grocery store. Its just sad how much people steal from grocery stores. And how much a mental health issue it is to steal all the time.
