Why do people say 24/7 crate training is abusive?

I could not disagree more. I have abused dogs. I'm sure many people have too. I've trained many dogs in my past, I was a breeder, and I worked with a lot of rescue dogs. I was an idiot when I was 25. I used prong collars and e-collars. I even used pinch collars and choke chains. I have also crate trained dogs. Used as training tool, an e-collar is a lot worse than a crate. I've never caged a dog 24/7. I've never abused a dog in a crate. I've only used crates as a way to go to sleep, go to work, or leave the house for a few hours. I've trained a dozen dogs over the years and all of them have been crate trained. I abused a handful of dogs over the years, but crate trained all of them. I cannot imagine a world where a crate abused a dog. I think some people are morons.
