My friend has 20 different symptoms that qualify him for disability, but still gets rejected.

I am seriously just curious. Why do people not get disability sometimes? I’m sure there’s more to the case than what I know, but I still want to know. If he qualifies, and the doctors are saying he does, then why does he get rejected? It just seems like if you qualify, you qualify. What else could there be to it? I’m just really confused about the process, and would really appreciate some insight.

Context: He has 20 different symptoms and has been an alcoholic for 40+ years. He gets all these sicknesses, and is just overall really unwell. And he can’t get disability, it’s just really frustrating to me.
