The title is mostly self-explanatory. I believe that the next president of the United States will be a Democrat because of the following reasons:

1. Republican party problems and infighting - the Republican party has been plagued by infighting between hardline conservatives and the more moderate members. This will hurt the ability of the Republicans to run a well coordinated and effective campaign.

2. Lack of a strong candidate - the Republican party doesn't have a strong candidate to run. The closest that they have is Scott Walker, but he can't get elected in Wisconsin. Jeb Bush is highly unlikely to win the Republican nomination due to public perception of the Bush name. Rand Paul has no chance with his stance on foreign policy.

3. Republican party policies - the Republican party has been plagued by the hardline conservatives calling for the Christian nation. This has alienated moderate members and drives them away from voting Republican.

4. Lack of youth vote - the Republican party has problems attracting the youth vote. In 2012, exit polls showed that Romney was completely destroyed in the youth vote. This will only get worse for the Republicans as the youth vote continues to lean more and more left.

5. The Democrats have a strong candidate - the Democratic party has two of the strongest candidates in the country. Hillary Clinton is one of the most well known names in politics. Bernie Sanders is someone who is very popular with the youth and has built a grassroots campaign that’s very reminiscent to the Obama campaign.

6. The Republican party is seen as being out of touch with the common people - the Republican party is seen as being out of touch with the common people. The Democrats have been able to capitalize on this by showing that they are the party of the common people.

Now, I’m not saying that it’s impossible for the Republicans to win the White House. I’m saying that they are worse off than the Democrats at this point.

Edit: I changed democrat to democratic to be grammatically correct. I also changed whitehouse to White House.

Edit #2: for the people who say "it's too early to tell", it's not. A lot can be seen by looking at the Republican primary polls.
