There is no such thing as a "guilty pleasure", because if you enjoy something, you don't feel guilty about it, and if you feel guilty about something, you don't enjoy it

The term guilty pleasure has no business being used because if something is enjoyable to you, you don't feel guilty about it. And if you feel guilty about something, you don't enjoy it.

Edit: Ok, so guilty pleasure means that you are doing something you enjoy that the rest of the world doesn't approve of right? Like, your love for Salo is a guilty pleasure because you love and enjoy it, but the world at large doesn't approve of that piece of shit being called "art".

If you enjoy something, you don't feel guilty about it. If you feel guilty about something, you don't enjoy it. Salo is not a "guilty pleasure", Salo is just something you shouldn't do and you know damn well why.

I don't understand this mindset of "oh, I have to go listen to some Nickelback to cleanse myself of all the classical music I listened to".

If you enjoy Nickelback, you don't feel guilty about it. If you feel guilty about listening to Nickelback, you don't enjoy it.

If you enjoy something, you enjoy it. You don't feel guilty about it. If you feel guilty about something, then you don't really enjoy it. Don't pretend that you enjoy something that you don't because you want to sound like a rebel. If you like Bach, you like Bach. If you like Nickelback, you like Nickelback. If you like Salo, you like Salo (but you have serious issues that need to get addressed somewhere along the line)
