Prompts are:

**[Legal ]** Your abusive ex suddenly abandons their "all the way fight to the end he deserved this, it was long overdue" and reaches a settlement with you. But they want to make sure before you even know about it. You've spent years dealing with them, and with your lawyer. You've seen him twice, first in your chambers where he told you to go out and reap hash on your ex and his lawyers, and second in your office where he made sure you gave him the full story of your abuse and read the settlement paperwork himself.

Your ex walks into the courtroom, and for the first time in all these years, you're not afraid of them. Your lawyer is with you, and he's been nothing but kind. You're so happy you've found him, even if it did take 4 years of abuse. Your lawyer is a 6ft1 tall man with short black hair and bright red eyes. He doesn't look like he ever sleeps, and you're pretty sure he doesn't. He's always been so professional, and he's the one lawyer you've ever had who truly listened to you. But you've come to find him to be the friend you never knew you needed.

Your ex is 5ft10, so your lawyer is even taller than they are. But you list what they are when your lawyer comes to court today. No meetings, no need to rehearse, it's an almost boilerplate case. You've each got your own lawyer, and your ex and their lawyers are not happy with your lawyer being there.

You list them off as you've done before. Your ex used to love humiliation games. And you're quite happy your lawyer is so tall and handsome, but that's about it. You were abused, you know you weren't treated right and you're getting the justice you deserve. Your ex is angry, flustered, and their lawyers are trying to calm them down.

"Your Honour, we are exhausted by these proceedings," the main lawyer says. "Our client has lost numerous jobs, their health has been affected by this case and the accused continues to belittle them. It is enough."

"I am sorry, but this case has been dragging on so long because you have refused to discuss settlement, and instead opted for a trial," the judge replies. "I will not let them continue to belittle you. Ms. [LAST NAME]?"

You nod, and fiddle with your hands. This may be the last time you have to do this.

"Yes, Your Honour."

You look up at the judge.

"I was 5ft2 the day I met my ex. He made me wear 5 inch heels every day. He was 6ft0. My lawyer, Mr. [LAST NAME] is 6ft1. I felt belittled every time they looked at me then. I feel belittled every time they look at me now. I miss my children, Your Honour. I miss my pets. I miss my family. But most of all, I miss the innocence and carefreeness I had when I was still 5ft2."

You hate yourself for it, but you can't help the tears that fall down your face. You're tired Your Honour.

"I don't want to live in fear of him anymore, Your Honour. I want to know that my children are safe from him."

Your ex is trying to storm out of the courtroom, but doesn't get anywhere.

"I don't want to live in fear of him anymore, Your Honour. Please, can we settle?"

The judge looks at you with a pitiful expression, before glancing over at your ex. They nod.

"You've had your chance for the last 4 years, [EX]. Now, it's time you gave your family, specifically [YOUR NAME], the justice they deserve. I can see just by the way you're acting that it's better you're out of the picture and they get to live their lives."

It's already done. Your lawyer dealt with your ex yesterday. They had him sign the papers after they showed him a video of you speaking to your children then him accusing you of doing it for the judge. You don't know what deal they made, but it was surprising how easily he agreed to it all. They told you what it was, but you didn't need to know the details. It was still so surreal, that it was finally over.

The judge looks back to you.

"Ms. [LAST NAME], go and live your life. [EX], I'm so sorry this took so long. I also sorry for your loss. You should not have abused [YOUR NAME]."

Your ex just walks out the room. The judge looks at your lawyer before glancing up at you.

"You've been a hell of a victim impact, Ms. [LAST NAME]."

Your lawyer smiles and holds out his arm.

"I think this might be the only case you've had a victim impact before the actual trial."

You take his arm as he leads you out of the courtroom. He pulls you into a hug when you get out the door.

"I'm glad it's over [YOUR NAME]."

You nod, doesn't he know what he's done? He did that for you.

After all, he was always your knight in shining armour.

I’ve had a little bit of a break from writing and I missed Courtroom scenes, and I missed Christian. I was in a great mood today and decided to write smth to promote justice.

Feel free to criticise anything and everything you think I can improve.
