Why do you choose to believe what you believe?

I constantly see posts on this sub with people stating their beliefs. I often wonder, why do you believe what you believe? Why do you believe that consciousness is fundamental? Why do you think Nihilism is correct? Why do you think hard determinism is true? <br><br>What is the reason for your beliefs?
