AITA for getting out of my Nike romper and giving it to a naked homeless woman?

I was out with my mom on a shopping trip and I was wearing a Nike romper (one of those ones with a little dress and shorts). On the way home, I stopped to get some coffee and as I was walking out, I saw a woman with no clothes covering her lower half. She didn’t seem to fit the profile of a homeless person (she had on clean, neat hair and a nice Northface coat) so I asked her what was going on. She told me she was homeless and a few hours before, police had kicked her out of a shelter. Even though the mask mandate is over, she didn’t have a mask so they wouldn’t let her in. While the night was pretty warm, it was obviously not very comfortable to be walking outside with no pants. I waited until she went behind the building to change and then I gave her my romper and a pair of sandals that I had in my car. When I came home, I told my mom what happened and she was absolutely furious. I asked her why she was so mad and she told me it was because the homeless woman could have been a criminal and stolen my car, or she could have sold the outfit for drugs. My mom then told me I had to do whatever it took to get the outfit back. So the next day, I went back to the coffee house and the homeless woman was there. She saw me and she hugged me and thanked me and she told me she felt so much better now that she had something to wear. I told her that my mom wanted the outfit back and she started crying. She said she had no way of getting me the outfit back and she didn’t have any money to pay me for it. I told her it was okay and I didn’t want to take the outfit back (I didn’t care that much about getting it back anyway, I can always find other outfits to wear). When I got home, my mom saw that I didn’t have the outfit and she asked where I had gone and I told her I had tried to get it back. She told me to try again the next day and if I didn’t, she would figure out a way to punish me. I told her I was not going to try again and she took my phone and car and I am grounded for life.
