EDIT: this is not about bullying. this is about a kid who doesn’t like you as a person and that’s okay. bullying is bad and something we all should be actively working against.

some kids just don’t like you. that’s okay. you don’t have to be best friends with everyone. you still have to be kind and still have to teach them and treat them with respect. but you don’t have to be liked by everyone, that’s okay.

I have a kid who doesn’t like me and that’s okay. he got in trouble a lot last year and now he associates me with getting in trouble. that’s okay. i understand why he would feel this way.

i had a teacher i didn’t like in high school. she made me feel dumb and i was so stressed during her class. i didn’t like her because i thought she was mean. it wasn’t until i was much older that i realized that she was probably just really stressed, and her teaching style reflected that.

as a teacher, i just want people to like me. i’m a people pleaser and i do get really upset if people don’t like me. but i’m trying to work on that. it’s okay if kids don’t like me. i don’t have to be liked by everyone. i just have to be their best teacher.

and it’s okay if some kids don’t like you. you don’t have to force them to like you. you can just be their teacher and treat them with respect and move forward.
