Thoughts on the possible return of Chatterbox?

Hey all! <br><br>Back in the day, I'm sure many of us used Chatterbox to create voiceovers for our animations or videos.<br><br>I've had a conversation with a developer, and we're thinking of getting Chatterbox back online and changing the licensing. They have all of the original code, and we're going to possibly create a Patreon or similar account to help fund the project. <br><br>Chatterbox was a great tool, and I think we all miss it. So, why not bring it back? <br><br>Going to put a few questions here, in case you want to give your thoughts:<br><br>To clarify, you'd be donating to the original Chatterbox creators for their time and effort. They are willing to put in the time to get it up and running again, and I can offer a server to host it.<br><br>I believe they want to have the ability to donate in different tiers or one off payments per character or voice. So you'd pay a bit for each voice you want to use.<br><br>If you'd be willing to donate, how much do you think a reasonable price for a voice would be? I understand it's probably going to be less than $5, as Chatterbox is not as advanced as some of the other voiceover creators, but probably more than $1.<br><br>Once you paid for a voice over, you'd own it and be able to use it forever.<br><br>If we got to the point where we needed to hire a voice actor to create voices, we'd then have to pay them to keep being able to use their voice. It might become more expensive. At this point, maybe we'd offer a subscription, or give some perks to our Patreon users.<br><br>Are there any voices you desperately want that Chatterbox didn't originally offer? Which ones?<br><br>Patreon would likely be used to cover the server costs. What perks would you want to see there? We could offer the ability to have your own voice added to Chatterbox, or the ability to have the software fully installed on your PC so you wouldn't need to worry about internet connectivity.<br><br>Is there a different platform you'd prefer to see Chatterbox hosted on? Chatterbox used to have a lower quality mp3 output, but I believe this could be improved.<br><br>If you used Chatterbox and created a YouTube video with it, and monetised it, would you feel that the possible limit of 1000 voices you could have would impact you?<br><br>How much would you be willing to donate a month to a Patreon to have the following: more voices as they are added, possible discounts, or the occasional ability to get a higher quality output?<br><br>Do you think there would be anything else to stop Chatterbox from being shut down again?<br><br>Can you think of anyone that would be willing to sponsor us, so we could keep Chatterbox running with no donation needed?<br><br>Lastly, would you be interested in helping the project? It could be anything from general advice, or helping with the community management, or if you have a voice acting talent, perhaps even donating your voice to Chatterbox?<br><br>Thanks for your time!
