Secondary females?

What are your thoughts on having a secondary breeding female for a stud dog? Especially if it is a bitch? I feel like in the past we would do this all the time with males and just have him with a senior bitch and a younger one. I’m asking because I’m thinking of having a secondary bitch for my guy but I feel like I’m not really sure how to make it work.
