Hey, I am a realtor and I'm currently at an open house tour in Mahwah. 3 of today's 6 houses I saw had stink bugs, I just saw one literaly walk across the kitchen counter.

For context, I'm a Jersey City person for life, never understood how people could live in the burbs. The houses are so big and ugly, and everyone seems so boring.

I just got a call from a buyer looking to move out to Bergen County which is a county about 20 minutes driving distance from my city for you out of towners. This was strange, because last week I got 2 calls from people looking to move out of Bergen County to Jersey City. They both had the same reason for wanting to move out of the burbs, they both developed a strong dislike for the stink bugs.

So I'm thinking, of course this is just a coincidence. There can't really be that many people with such a strong dislike for bugs. But today I'm at an open house tour in Mahwah, which is essentially the middle of nowhere. I've been to 5 houses so far and 3 of them had stink bugs. This last house literally had one walk across the kitchen counter.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I think these people moving out of Bergen County may be onto something. I'm trying to convince the person that called me to purchase to look elsewhere, but I think I'll just have to suggest other towns throughout Bergen County.

Finally, I know this is a stink bug chamber, and I'm not trying to bash the bugs. But I think they are becoming a bigger problem than most people realize.
