Twitter's rival app T2 will be shut down after Elon Musk sues creators

The social media platform T2 was announced in late December as a potential alternative to Twitter, which Musk acquired in October.<br><br>As reported by The Verge, a court filing dated December 27 indicated that the app's creators were sued by Musk and his team over "what Musk claims was a violation of Twitter’s terms of service and alleged theft of trade secrets."<br><br> A trial is scheduled to begin in February.<br><br>As a result, the company has initiated "the process of winding down our operations and dissolving the company. We know there's so much more we could have built, so much more we could have accomplished, and we are heartbroken that we won't get to give you the T2 app you deserve."<br><br>The company's team added that they are "terribly sorry for the disruption this has caused and will do our best to support you through this transition."<br><br>"We hope that someday we may revive T2, but for now, the fight is over. We brought this fight against the largest and most well-resourced foe imaginable, and we fought with everything we had. We've lost, but you know what? We still fought."<br><br>The team also thanked users for their support, including their more than 1,400 beta testers, the investors who put their faith in the company, and those who reiterated their demand to see T2 succeed.
