My husband went to war over an year ago, and this was the time that we lived together. When he returned he was a completely different person. One week after returning home he had this episode for the first time. He started crying loudly and calling for his mother, father and telling me that he wants to go home. He also says that he wants to die and that he should have died in war. This episodes go for days and days, and then comes days when he is completely fine.

He has a lot of anger as well. He beats me, and my children, he has even left bruises on them. He also curses a lot at us. He has a lot of flashbacks and nightmares. I also hear him talking to himself, and always looking behind his back.

He went to the doctor and they diagnosed him with PTSD. They gave him some strong medications and told us to come back after a few weeks. It has not helped very much, and now I am considering asking for help online, because I have no one else to talk to. I am worried that if I tell my family we will have to divorce, and they will cut me and my children off completely. And also I do not want to leave him, because he becomes a completely different person when he is fine. He’s very romantic and loving to us, and maybe, just maybe with the right help he can become the man that he used to be. But how does a person live with someone like that, and how does it help someone who has PTSD?
