Quick tip I didn't know when I first joined the sub.

Editing is much harder than writing. And it's much harder to get edits out of people on the sub.

When you read a story, you probably already know where you liked and didn't like it, even if you can't put your finger on specifically why.

At the end of your comments, include a phrase like this.

"Things I liked/disliked about this that I can't comment on are [insert things here]."

Then others who read it can go directly to those parts of the story and leave their own opinions.

It's a lot easier to comment when you know someone specifically wants to hear your opinion on that topic. Just stating "this sentence was weak" would be much easier when you know the author specifically wants feedback on that sentence.

One easy edit is the first time a character is introduced. If you notice yourself wondering if it's a man or woman, just mention that. You'll be one of the few people in that story's comment thread.

If you are an author, feel free to add things you want feedback on when you click the "decision" button.

Edit 1: Added "Things I liked/disliked..." phrase.
