Should I start a conversation?

I don't have much to say here except that I've always been opposed to the existence of catgirls. I've always found it weird and disgusting. I would like to open a general conversation on the topic. Should I talk to him about it and why? I don't want to attack him or hurt him, I just want to understand how he feels on the matter and improve my relationship with him. He's a respectful person and we don't fight often.
