The ruling was made in a case involving an AI-generated artwork that was entered into an art competition.<br><br>In his ruling, U.S. District Judge Jesse M. Furman wrote:<br><br>“Even assuming an AI algorithm can play a role in the creative process of a work, that fact alone does not mean that the product of that process is automatically entitled to copyright protection,”<br><br>In other words, he is saying that AI-generated content is not eligible for copyright protection because it is not created by a human.
