Question for the AI haters - Do you REALLY think they will take over the world?

I ask because I don't really get the point of AI hating when they are just tools. I have a friend who posts pictures of robot feet smashing human skulls saying "can't wait to be dead". He is no longer a friend. I will never get the people who are so hard set against it. It just doesn't make sense to me.
