This is an official announcement from the moderators and administration regarding trolling on the chamber, what it is and how it will be treated going forward.

This is something that has been a long time coming and needs to be said. Unfortunately too many members of the gun community have been engaging in trolling, and we have come to the realization that if we want to stop this behavior we need to lead by example. As a result, this post will serve as the official policy on what the sub considers trolling and how it will be treated going forward.

We have come to the realization that the best way to end trolling is to stop feeding and engaging with trolls. Without victims and without an audience trolls have no reason to keep doing what they do. Therefore, we will no longer engage with trolls, we will no longer feed them, we will no longer give them the satisfaction that they are getting to us. We will just keep on doing what we are doing and ignore the trolls as they desperately try to get a rise out of us.

We will not engage with trolls anymore because we have realized that responding or engaging trolls in any fashion is just a big part of the problem itself. Feeding a troll just makes it worse, and is often interpreted by them as a sign that they are winning. Therefore, we will no longer provide them with that satisfaction. We will no longer give trolls the pleasure of getting a rise out of us.

We will not apologize for offending trolls, either. If they have a problem with what we have to say they can go back to whatever shithole it is that they came from. We realized that we shouldn't let trolls get away with dictating the conversation and trying to get us to tailor our words and actions to make them happy. We shouldn't have to worry about hurting the feelings of trolls or apologizing to them for offending them.

We have also realized that if we actually want to stop trolls then we need to stop just banning them and start taking real action. We can't just keep banning trolls over and over again expecting to get different results. We need to take the next step and start reporting trolls to the authorities so that they can be held accountable for their actions. We should be helping to create an environment where trolls aren't protected, but rather are held accountable.

In short, we will no longer engage, respond, or cater to trolls. We will ignore them. We will no longer apologize for offending trolls and pissing them off. We will no longer just ban trolls. From now on trolls will be reported to the proper authorities and we will be pushing for them to be held legally accountable for their actions.

The best policy towards trolls is to ignore them and cut them out of our lives. It's time that we stop feeding trolls and take back the sub by cutting off their supply of food.

PS: Reporting trolls and getting them held accountable is also the best way to prove that we aren't the "snowflakes" that trolls accuse us of being.
