ELI5: Why isn't Suicide Squad 2 considered a reboot?

Disclaimer: There are spoilers<br><br>The movie "The Suicide Squad" is released on HBO Max today, if you check out the page on Wikipedia, it states 'The Suicide Squad' as a sequel. <br><br>However, it appears as if the movie completely writes out the character Enchantress, has Bloodsport replacing Deadshot, has a new origin story for King Shark, and has new characters that weren't even in the first movie.<br><br>How can you call a movie with so many differences a sequel?
