Would you eat a spoiled meal just to save money?

This past week I had made some Thai red curry for my boyfriend and myself, and I had left the leftovers in the fridge overnight to eat for lunch during the week. Fast forward to Saturday when I opened the container and saw that the curry had developed a moldy smell, and there was a layer of mold beginning to form at the surface. Obviously, this was spoiled and needed to be tossed, but the thought of throwing it out got me thinking about the frugal lifestyle.

I’ve read about people eating expired food or questionable leftovers and I’ve done this before too. After taking a closer look at the curry, I thought about whether or not I would still eat it to save money. But my gut (literally) told me that something wasn’t right and it was time to let it go.

I’m not sure how many people do this, but it seems like a common habit for people who are trying to save money and not waste anything. I’m interested to know if people do this, and if you’d still be willing to eat a spoiled meal to save money.
