English teacher here, what is the deal with the constant “this could never be a real assignment” thing on tik tok.

I keep seeing videos like this where a student gets an assignment that is allegedly from their English class that is just incredibly poorly written and obviously not a real assignment from a real teacher, and they use that as evidence that English classes are pointless and that teachers suck.<br><br>I get that it’s probably a bit for the algorithm, but come on. I have never given an assignment to my students that looked like that. Neither has any other English teacher that I know. Does anyone know where this trend originated?
