I have a serious amount of student loan debt (~$80k) and I’m trying to figure out what different career paths I can go down to pay it off more quickly.

I’m currently in an entry-level attorney position that pays around $50k. It’s hard to know if this is the right field for me, because I’ve only had a little over a month of on the job experience.

As a teenager, I was obsessed with the idea of freemasonry. I don’t know why. I think it was partly because my dad had some personal stuff going on, and I wanted an escape.

But partly I think I wanted a sense of history and tradition that I could build my life around.

It’s an interesting phenomenon, because I would have never expected the motivations behind such a weirdly specific obsession to have played out in my career path like they have. (I didn’t know I wanted to be an attorney until I was in my mid-twenties)

So, as I’m considering whether to stay in law or choose a different career path, what fields have a strong sense of tradition and history behind them? It’s clearly something I’m interested in, and I don’t know of much else like that out there.

Edit: I don’t mean to give the impression that I’m particularly religious. As a teenager, I was fascinated with the esoteric aspects of freemasonry, but I didn’t really understand them or know much about them at all.
