Amazon is shutting down its Zappos clothing and shoes subsidiary next year

Amazon said on Wednesday it will wind down Zappos' online clothing and shoes business by the end of 2024 as part of an effort to streamline its e-commerce operations and prioritize long-term profitability. The retailer will begin its transition next year and by early 2025, Zappos.com will be closed and Zappos will operate solely under its existing private label, Supercloud, according to a company spokesperson.<br><br>Zappos employees will be offered other roles at Amazon. The company said it plans to offer severance packages to employees who do not wish to take on other roles within the company.
