Why doesn’t anyone talk about how cocaine production destroys the environment?

We hear about the need to make cocaine illegal to protect people, or how cocaine supports organized crime. But why isn’t it a priority to regulating and controlling cocaine use because it is a public health and environmental issue? The drug war is a waste of time and effort, but it seems like there is very little attention about why the recreational use of cocaine is so detrimental to the environment. If it is so bad, why don’t we just regulate the way cocaine is produced, or the way it is consumed, the same way we regulate other narcotics and other drugs? It’s not like anyone has ever been able to make a good argument for why cocaine should be illegal, but why do people continue to pretend it is?

Or is it just not a big deal, since coca leaf cultivation and cocaine production is not as common as other things that destroy the environment, like tobacco or the use of other harder drugs?
