The American Dream is dead because of automation

I'm not talking about robots making cars or manufacturing, I'm talking about the little things. <br><br>I used to be able to go to a food court and order at 3 elements and receive a consistent level of customer service that is fast and accurate.<br><br>Now I go to a food court and order at 3 kiosks. Do I still get a consistent level of service? The food is usually good. The machine is fast and accurate. I never have to ask to repeat the order, to make sure they get it right. <br><br>Where are the jobs? We need more jobs. <br><br>I know some people say we need to invent new industries to create new jobs. To me, that is a bunch of hooey. I don't think anyone knows how to create industries. I think you have to be an entrepreneur to create an industry. <br><br>I think that we should give every American a minimum amount of money every year so they can live. Whether or not they work. I think we should give them minimum health insurance. Give them a minimum level of security and let them hustle to make more money if they want to. <br><br>This is the only logical solution to automation. Everyone cannot be a programmer or a doctor. <br><br>We need to change the way society is structured. I know this will take a long time, but we need to start working towards this. <br><br>We can't keep pushing people to work. As machines take over more tasks, there will be less and less people who are truly needed. <br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>Edit: I am not saying that we should give everyone enough money to live a middle class life. I'm saying we should give everyone enough money to barely survive. The money should be just enough to live and nothing else. <br><br>If you want more than subsistence, you have to work for it.<br><br>Edit 2: I'm not saying that we should give everyone money from now on.
