I fell off the wagon (it's time to get back on)

I first started reading about minimalism in 2012 and it quickly became a lifestyle. I was also vegan and lived in a small studio with only the basics. I was low waste, rarely bought anything new, and had very few possessions. Once I got into it, I found it really easy to stick to.

In the past year, I got a new job and moved into a one bedroom apartment. It had more space than my studio, and my family was excited to give me their hand-me-downs. That's where my minimalism journey started to slip.

I didn't want to be rude and hurt anyone's feelings by turning down their items, so I just accepted them. My apartment slowly filled up with stuff, and life got in the way. I got busy with my new job then side projects and didn't pay as much attention to my space. I thought I was still being a minimalist --- I just had a little extra now, and I could handle it.

The problem is that it's going to be a lot of work to get back to how I was living. So I thought I'd do a progress journal here, and update periodically. I'm also curious to hear how others get back to it when they've fallen off.

Where I'm at right now:?a bunch of things I don't need or use.

Where I want to be:?a minimalist.
