What happened to the economy this year? It feels like 2009 again.

In the USA, grocery store shelves have been bare since about July, prices in everything continues to skyrocket, and the pulling back of stimulus programs, the end of the 600 dollar checks, the end of the moratoriums on mortgage payments and evictions, and the lack of another stimulus for individuals have all created a perfect storm. A lot of businesses have shut down in my area, or have reduced hours, and there are now a lot of homeless. I am seeing a lot of people collecting cans on the side of the road. It feels like it did in 2009, when so many people were losing their jobs, and the economy was laughing at us for losing our life saving due to the stock market crashing. And the government did nothing for years. It feels like 2009 again, but with hyper inflation added this time. I feel like something is really wrong here.
