Holiday budgeting

This year I found myself in a lot better finacial shape than last year. And I'm feeling good about money. But I dont want to go backwards.<br><br>I find holiday shopping/buying to be a lot of fun. So I want to make sure I can save a good amount for it so I can find some really cool gifts and decoration rather than the bare minimum.<br><br>Is there a general rule of thumb? How much of your income should you plan on spending for the holiday this year?<br><br>I pay myself an allowance each month and I'm tempted to double or triple that, but I dont know if thats too much.<br><br>Any good holiday budgeting advice?
