I cannot send my 2 year old child to daycare as she is not toilet trained, so I work from home. In the last 3 months she has probably watched YouTube videos for 1-2 hrs a day. She now has a plethora of baby YouTube channels recommended by YouTube, 3 of them are not even English. She can navigate YouTube on her own, finding the story she wants to watch. She knows the difference between stories and pranks. She knows the difference between YouTube and a movie. She can open the app and find the episode she wants, she knows if you watch your own video the story she just watched will send a notification. She knows that if an ad is playing you just click on the X and you can skip it. It used to take her a few minutes to find what she wants, now she can enter the app and get it done in 30 seconds.

There are 7 year old children who live near my house. They can navigate prudes, prudes send them content, they can skip ads just like my 2 year old. They have tablets and access to YouTube as long as they want. They learned how to fake YouTube channels, they will use a fake YouTube app to watch videos on YouTube without ads, 7 year old children. They now have more channels recommended to them than I have, they have more channels recommended than I have ever heard of. They will be able to find content, they will know they can skip ads, they will know that if you watched the channel all the way to send a notification you will get an alert. They will know that if they cannot find the send channel there is a search button.

Now on to youtube's fake channels. There are 4 baby channels that have 3.5 million subscribers. Peppa pig now has 5 different channels. There is an endless stream of fake channels for children. That's what you get when you combine children with your infinite story algorithm. You cannot watch one episode, they will roll into the next one. You cannot watch the channel for more than 20 minutes without a get recommendations. If you cannot find what you are looking for then you can search for it. This is the world that you created. This is the world that you will have to live in.

The next time that you will hear a send message or a notification for a channel will be in 2-3 years when the next generation comes. Children are smart and YouTube channels are easy to navigate. You will be dying out in 2-3 years.
