Our house of a few years was recently sold. I went back to it the other day to pick up some stuff from the backyard and a large piece of my fence was removed. The new owner was outside and I asked him how he planned on getting it back together. He said he wouldn't. I asked why not and he said because the fence was on his property. I told him that's not true, and he said he had his lawyer check the county records and that fence is on his property. He said I can sue the previous owner if I wanted it back and I needed to get off of his property.

I looked into it and the fence that I had installed less than 3 years ago is literally on that guy's property. So now I've gotta pay to hire a lawyer to sue a guy that moved 2 states away almost 2 years ago. I'm out on the fence and will be out even more on a lawyer.

The fence was installed with the county saying that's where the property lines were. That's not the issue. The issue is that the lawyer for the seller of the property did not verify that, and the lawyer for the buyer of the property did verify the property lines.

This is not something that I can go to a judge for without spending the money for a lawyer because I don't know anything about property laws and the person I need to sue has the money to hire a better lawyer than I can afford to hire. I've lost faith in humanity after what happened.
