AITA for kicking my daughter out at 18 and not helping her go to college?

I have a daughter, Rachel, who is 16, I’ll call her that for this. I wanted to wait to see what the consensus was before actually doing anything.

She is lazy as all get out. Getting her to do anything is like pulling teeth. I have chores written down for her, just like I did when I was young. Clean her room, help with dishes, sweep, stuff like that. I’m a single parent. I was married, but he cheated on me and I divorced him when she was 8. I have supported us, on my own, for 8 years now.

She doesn’t do anything. I have literally taken her phone, tv, and all games, and she still doesn’t do them. I have swept and mopped the floor, only for her to come through right behind me and spill something on it, staining it.

I have been to several counselors, and none of them seem to help at all. She has been tested for ADHD, and she doesn’t have it. She just plain and simple doesn’t want to help.

She knows that I absolutely cannot stand a dirty house, and she knows that I believe that everyone helps. I have told her that, since she is the only child, it’s the least she can do.

We got into an argument the other day because she said she wants to go to college, but she doesn’t want to study because she’s too busy playing games with her friends. I told her I’m not helping her go to college. If she wants to go bad enough, she will find a way. I won’t sign loan papers for her startup money or pay for her tuition and books.

She asked what I’m going to do, send her out on the street? I told her yes, I will. I have worked hard for this house, and I deserve better than to work myself to death, both at work and at home.

The argument ended with her calling me an asshole.

AITA?
