What would you guys say is the best thing to do to get an A on an essay, when you have a month to do it in, but you’re struggling with the topic?

I have 4 weeks to do the essay, I have the prompt, but I’m really struggling to come up with a topic. I’ve read the rubric requirements, I’ve looked at past graded essays, I’ve brainstormed, I’ve talked to my classmates, and I still feel like I’m getting no where. If I continue on this path, I’ll have 3 weeks of time in which I still won’t have a topic, and it’ll be really hard to write a good essay in 1 week.

I’m currently studying business and this is a finance essay. I’m struggling to choose a topic because the prompt is to talk about an event, and my professor has been very specific about which events he wants us to choose from (there are a lot of them), but only a few of them have some really in-depth research done on them, and they seem to be the ones that are most popular among the students, so I’m worried that if I choose one of them, I’ll get a bad grade due to lack of originality, and if I choose an unpopular topic, I won’t have enough information to write a good essay.

I’m seriously considering just choosing any topic and going to my professor and telling him I’ve chosen this topic and will be writing about it, and seeing if he has any issue with it, just so I can just start finally writing the essay already, because it feels like a waste of time to spend so much time choosing my topic.
