CMV: The WWE is terrible because of the terrible message it sends to its viewers about women.

I know this is in danger of being downvoted to oblivion considering the massive fan base WWE has, but I'll go ahead with this post anyway. <br><br>I've been familiar with WWE since childhood, but I never watched it seriously. I was always a fan of other TV shows and used to turn on WWE only occasionally when there was nothing else to watch. But one day I ended up watching the WWE main event with my sister and I am absolutely horrified by it. <br><br>The WWE women wrestling is a WWE sub-brand called Smackdown Women. It has a number of women wrestlers in it including the most popular Sasha Banks and Ronda Rousey who joined WWE from the UFC. <br><br>What I find absolutely deplorable about the WWE women wrestling is the disgusting manner in which the audience reacts to it. The crowd is full of men who cheer on women to have fist fights and engage in dramatic grappling. The entire thing is nothing more than two women pissing contest. <br><br>The female wrestlers are all wearing typical cleavage showing and butt hugging attire. It seems like the WWE is trying to sexualize the women and then have them engage in a fist fight for the gratification of the crowd. The crowd consists of men who shout out disgusting comments and then proceed to boo the women and call them bitches in the very next moment. <br><br>I think this is an absolutely disgusting idea to have women wrestling, controlled by a private corporation which also owns a male version of it. The entire women wrestling concept is sexualizing women and then having them engage in a show for the gratification of the crowd. <br><br>It's not even about wrestling. The WWE women wrestling is just an extension of this patriarchal trope where two women are made to fight in order to satisfy the ego and gratification of men. <br><br>This is an unadulterated display of sexism in which women are sexualized and then made to engage in a combat sport in front of a crowd of men who then proceed to shout out all sorts of sexist slurs. <br><br>This is absolutely unadulterated bullshit in which women are being sexualized and then made to engage in a combat sport in order to satisfy the crowd. <br><br>So I think WWE is absolutely terrible in this regard.
