Why does solidarity for Palestine get so much hate in the US?

I am not taking any political stance here nor am I attacking the right to self defense of Israel, but I would like to know why solidarity with Palestine is met with such hate and defense of Israel with such fervor in the US, while the rest of the world, especially Europe, seems to regularly show solidarity for Palestine and criticize Israeli policy.<br><br>This is a genuine question as I am intrigued.
