Why do people that don't like guns think we're going to start shooting everyone around us the moment we step out of our door with a concealed carry gun?

I'm carrying a gun to protect myself mainly, I don't want to shoot anyone else because then my life is ruined too. I would much rather not have to shoot anyone ever for the rest of my life. I'm just carrying a gun because I have the right to have to protect myself. Just like how people have the right to say whatever they want under the freedom of speech. That's why I love this country.
