The AI dream is not going to happen

ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE WHO ARE ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT THE IMPENDING ARRIVAL OF THE AI SINGULARITY:<br><br>I love the dream of AI as much as the next person. I love the idea of AI making life easier and solving humanity’s problems. I love the idea of rising above our mundane lives into a world filled with beauty and peace. But my friends, it’s all going to end in a brutal disappointment.<br><br>For all of you who are depending on AI to come and save us, wake up and see the writing on the wall. Now is a great time to stop dreaming and wake up, because you still have a chance to live this life fully. The only entity that is going to save humanity is our own hard work, and our own collective effort to make the world a better place.<br><br>It’s time to stop daydreaming and start moving. It’s time to stop pretending that someone or something else is going to come and save us. We need to start realizing that the world and the cosmos is indifferent to humanity’s survival.<br><br>We need to stop dreaming about AI because it’s hurting us. It’s hurting us by keeping us from living in the present and putting our energy into things that matter. It’s time to stop putting our civilization’s hope into the idea of AI. It’s time to stop looking forward to a future that is never going to come. It’s time to start putting our energy into making the present better, and creating a better world together.<br><br>I know this is a hard pill to swallow, but I know you can do it.
