Why do people say "it's just a thing" about possessions? Some things can be a big deal compared to others

I get that minimalism as a lifestyle is about not prioritizing possessions. But when some people get lazy and trivialized everything that has been given to them or they've purchased, saying "it's just a thing" and acts like they don't care. No things are not all created equal. Some things are more important than others. In fact that's the whole idea of minimalism, to value the things that are important to you and don't value the ones that aren't. I value my dog and my husband, I value my house and I value my profession. I value the things that I've bought with my money. I have spent years to get where I am and to have what I have, so don't tell me that it's all just a "thing" because that is simply not true. Some things are more important than others. You don't have to be lazy and conflate everything to make it into some grand philosophy. Some things are better than others.
