I’m in my 30s, 3 little kids, husband, small home, 1 car. <br><br>Here’s my after-tax income. <br><br>$3800 - $1500 rent. $2300<br><br>$2300 - $500 utilities and internet. $1800<br><br>$1800 - $300 gas for the month. $15005<br><br>$1500 - $300 grocery run for the month. $1200<br><br>$1200 - $300 boys sports/musical instrument/makeup supplies (they all have stuff!) $900<br><br>$900 - $180 cell phone bills for everyone. $720<br><br>$720 - $100 car insurance. $620<br><br>$620 - $300 house insurance. $320<br><br>$320 - $300 Netflix/Hulu/gym/AppleTV+/IMPORTANT subscriptions. $20<br><br>Total left: $20<br><br>If I cut back on any of the incidentals it’ll be a hard slap in the face. <br><br>If I get a side gig, I’ll be AWAY from my kids. My husband is already away from home for a lot of the week. <br><br>I’m doing my best and I’m drowning. What do you do when you’re barely scraping by? How do you make the best life for your family when you’re struggling so much? <br><br>This is a good month because someone pays our phones sometimes. Some months we have to pay twice. What if I lose my job? I feel like no one really gets it but I’m so tired and I feel like my life is on one big goodbye kiss with a match. What if I can’t make it? How do I do it all?
