Last semester I had a 2.5 GPA, had a big mental breakdown and almost dropped out, my life sucked- I was literally depressed. I did everything wrong last semester, I didn’t go to class, I never read or did homework, I didn’t study for a single exam ever and the only way I managed to pass was by constantly going to the professor.

Going into the new semester however was my first chance to change. I had a long winter break from school, I read a shit ton of books on how to study and whatnot and got my shit together. I just got my exam results back from stats today and got 99% and I’m seriously considering being a TA lol. It’s not like this semester was perfect but I started to get my shit together. I have 2 more finals to take before the end of the week and I’m feeling good about them

I know it’s not a big deal to anyone else but to me it’s a big deal. I’ve been in school for 5 years and I finally start to feel like I know what I’m doing. I want to specifically say if you do have a mental breakdown or start to feel like the semester is over for you, just hang in there. It will get better, it will get better almost immediately. I used to act like I was a victim of circumstance, that it was their fault that I was doing poorly in school, it was never my fault and I blamed everyone else for it.

Just go to class, take some time to read and you’ll be fine.

Also I recommend reading atomic habits

Edit: wow this blew up, thank you so much everyone for reading. It truly means a lot to me. I pm’d a few people my atomic habits notes if you would like it as well pm me and I’ll send you the google doc. I appreciate all of the support.
