Artificially keep the value of work high. Use a universal wealth tax to dissuade corporations from replacing workers with AI. The government will tax corporations for every dollar saved by not replacing workers with AI. 100% of that wealth tax will go towards funding a UBI. This will ensure that the cost of something like bread, milk, or chicken will always go up at the same rate as the UBI. It doesn't matter if 50% of employees are replaced by AI if the cost of everything goes up at the same rate as your UBI payment.<br>2. Make AI illegal. This is a joke. The government has no idea how to police information sharing. They *just* started to understand how to deal with pornography. It will be impossible for the government to stop AI. AI will be available for anyone who wants it and it will be too late.<br>3. Humans will work for less. In a world where AI is unregulated, corporations would aggressively replace their workers and exponentially increase their profit margins. This would also exponentially decrease the cost of everything. This is impossible. The cost of something does not go down substantially in price as the cost of production goes down. The cost of something is what someone is willing to pay. The cost of something will always go up each year by the rate of inflation. The cost of something will never actually decrease.<br>4. Government owned companies. The government will start to takeover and nationalize companies with large AI penetration. The government will continue to operate these companies using AI. The government will take the profits from these companies and give it to you in a UBI. Everything will cost more, but you'll get more money from the government. The only difference would be that the government would operate the companies and tax us more to pay for the UBI. Businesses will always win and pay less taxes. The government will never win.
