Some of my favorite things about college

1. **Everyone is in the same boat.** Almost none of my classmates care that I got a 2.6 GPA at a community college last year. I had a rough time in high school, so my grades were trash, my teachers sucked, and I didn't get into a good college. Nobody cares about any of that. Nobody cares about what type of car you drive either, especially if you don't have one. That's pretty awesome. <br>2. **You can say no to shaming.** If a friend wants you to skip class, you can say no to their face without an excuse. If they guilt trip you about it, you can hang out with someone else. You don't have to say yes to anything you don't want to. <br>3. **Academic help is plentiful.** I can ask my teachers for help any time, without feeling like I'm bothering them. I can also ask my classmates for help, or go to my university's tutoring center. I've never had access to this many resources. It's great. <br>4. **Nobody tells you what to do.** If you want to drink at a party, you can. If you want to go to the library and study, you can. You can decide whether you devote an hour to working out, or to just eating a bunch of junk food. <br>5. **Nobody asks if you've done your homework.** If you haven't, you still had a chance to. If you have, you can't spend that time playing video games or dicks around online. You'll either get good grades, or you won't. That's up to you. <br>6. **There's no negativity.** I don't feel like I'm in some sort of prison. There are no bullies. Nobody gets mad at me for having a different opinion. I feel empowered to do whatever the hell I want, as long as it's legal. <br>7. **I can work out whenever I want.** I'm in a time crunch, but I can always fit in a 30-minute workout. If I don't have time to lift weights, I can do some yoga or something. It's great. <br>8. **I have access to the entire internet.** I can watch all the videos I want, browse all the websites I want, and download all the music I want, whenever and wherever I want. <br>9. **I can eat whatever the hell I want.** I'm an adult, so I can do that. Nobody tells me what to do. <br>10. **I can go home whenever I want.** I can go home by car, by bus, or on foot. I can also go see my friends or visit a coffee shop. It's great to be an adult. <br><br>&#x200B;
