The Centre for Policy Analysis (CPA) said that at least 3 million people died in the partition between India and Pakistan and at least 14.5 million people took refuge in other countries.<br><br>A book titled “The Great Partition: The Making of India and Pakistan” written by Yasmin Khan, a British Historian, also estimates that between 1-2 million people died in the violence following partition.<br><br>Regarding the number of deaths during the Islamic conquest of the Indian subcontinent, the book titled “The interesting history of Aurangzeb: India’s most bigoted and tyrannical Emperor” by VD Savarkar says that at least 4.6 million Hindus were killed by Mughals, while Gregory Alvin Davies says that Hindus who were killed by Mughals are in the range of 60-80 million.
